The Cell-based Surface Plasmon Resonance Microscopy (SPRM) seamlessly integrates bright field optical images of whole cells with SPR to measure binding affinity and kinetics of membrane proteins on whole cells with small molecule, antibody or peptides.  Because of its high spatial resolution (~ 1 μm), it can also monitor and measure virus and bacteria binding activities.
